Time To Retire Your Heating and Air Conditioning System

Replacing your worn down and inefficient old heating and air conditioning system isn't something any homeowner wants to deal with, however, there will come a time when you need to replace your system. Heating and Air Conditioning is an important part of your home, and if you’re existing system doesn't work the way it should, you might want to consider getting a new heating and air conditioning system. But is time to retire your system?

First off, it’s recommended to replace your heating and air conditioning system that is 10 years or older. If you've maintained a regular maintenance schedule and yearly cleaning, you can extend the life for a bit longer.

If you find your monthly energy bills going up, the problem may lie with your heating and air conditioning system. Wear and tear reduce the efficiency of your system: motors start working harder, dirt and dust can reduce the air flow into your home. If you've noticed higher energy bills, or you’re calling for a heating and air conditioner repairevery year, you may want to consider replacement.

Regardless of the reasons, you want a trained HVAC professional to handle the installation process. Black Hills, Inc. AC Energy Saving Tips

At Black Hills, Inc. Heating & Cooling we understand that running your air conditioning system can be a costly expense, and many homeowners hesitate about running their air conditioners. However, we believe that you deserve to be comfortable no matter what the temperature may be outside, that’s why we offer a wide selection of air conditioning services to help your stay cool during the summer. If you have any more questions, call the South Puget Sound air conditioning professionals at Black Hills Inc. today.

Here are a couple simple energy savings tips that can help cut down energy cost this summer.

Ceiling fans, are a great addition to your home cooling system. The airflow created by ceiling fans will help circulate that cooled air from your air conditioner throughout your home. This can help create a more evenly cooled home, without need to crank up your air conditioner.

Its not necessary to run your AC System around the clock. Temperatures will cool off once the sun goes down and opening up the windows during the night is a great way to cool down your house but also to air it out. Once the sun rises in the morning, close the windows to capture that cool air from the previous night.

Keeping curtains drawn to block out the sun during the brightest hours of the day can also help reduce the need to use your air conditioning system. You will still probably want to run your AC, but you won’t have to set it at a low temperature.

Now servicing the South King County region, at Black Hills, Inc. Heating & Air Conditioning we offer a full range of air conditioning services from repairs to maintenance to AC Installations in the Auburn, WA, Kent, WA, and Federal Way, WA area.

Dont Forget About the Heat Pump

Just like any heating system, a major part of properly maintaining any machine is to keep it clean. The Heat Pump in your Washington State home is no exception, heat pumps need routine maintenance and yearly check-ups to operate as efficiently and safely as possible.  A yearly heat pump maintenance can help prevent future costly repairs or an entire system replacement.

Simple cleaning is an easy and effective step to heat pump maintenance, dirty filters, coils, and fans reduce airflow through the system, reduced airflow means a decrease in system performance which can damage your system’s compressor. Outdoor components should be maintained and up kept regularly, remove any vegetation and clutter from around the unit.

During a heat pump maintenance check, one our expert technician will inspect the whole heat pump system for problems. He will clean the compressor and coils, tighten any connections that may have loosened up and change the filters as needed. In addition, they will be able to detect any early signs of trouble and make necessary repairs to prevent break downs. These small repairs can prevent big problems later on, thereby preventing some serious discomfort and a possible big expense.

Don’t wait until the heat pump in your Washington State home stops working, call the Heat Pump experts at Black Hills, Inc. Heating & Air Conditioning at +1 (866) 885-7885. Servicing the Tacoma, Puyallup, Olympia, and the greater Washington area.
